The Vijer Pond in the 1960s. In the photo taken in 2017 the trees have grown and there are some new high rise buildings behind the Parliament. One day when Joan was painting the picture of the Parliament building she enjoyed a conversation with Princess Beatrix, who was quite often seen walking or cycling around The Hague.

Joan Williamson painted the scenes of The Hague when she lived there with Dave in the early 60s. They would love to go back to Holland after Covid.
